Food Teacher Day: One mission, many classrooms

This digital catch-up event celebrates the important work and impact of secondary school food teachers, ensuring that children and young people have inspiring food experiences!

Food Teacher Day was originally an in-person course, delivered on 26 June 2026, for teachers to learn, share and interact together. There were updates about the national food teaching agenda, consideration for looking beyond what we currently teach, and exploration of food teaching strategies. This online course brings all the learning together in one accessible place.

The course has three key elements:

  1. Curriculum review impact ➡️ have courage with your curriculum

  1. Look beyond what you currently teach ➡️ tackling contentious or debatable issues

  1. Action plan for positive food lessons ➡️ addressing issues with practical solutions

Session 1: Curriculum review impact

The course aims to:

  • update you on the national food teaching agenda

  • outline a number of key initiatives and strategies surrounding food education

  • explore new food issues and teaching approaches

  • investigate best practice and highlight practical and pragmatic approaches to improve food teaching

  • celebrate the unique contribution by food teachers to children's education and health.

  • Once I have purchased my course how do I log in?

    When you purchase training, you are asked to give your direct email and contact details. This email is used to log you in. TYPE IT CAREFULLY.  

    • If someone is booking on your behalf, such as the school finance officer - make sure they add you as the guest/participant and give your correct email address
