Join us for a 90-minute Vegan High Skills Taster Workshop and explore a range of contemporary vegan recipes designed to develop both food science knowledge and high-level practical skills, including:
Artichoke and olive vegan tart with a gluten-free filling
Filled pasta
Vegan meringues
Vegan mayonnaise
Chilled desserts
Chocolate cake
Enriched dough products
We'll take an in-depth look at one featured recipe, exploring the science behind the ingredients and processes involved. We'll explore the working characteristics of the recipe, focusing on the functional and chemical properties of the ingredients and how these influence the structure, texture, appearance and overall quality of the finished product. You'll gain practical examples that can be used to support students' understanding of the scientific principles required for a successful NEA1 investigation.
We'll then move on to a different recipe to focus on the high-level practical skills required for NEA2. We'll examine the techniques used, discuss how students can demonstrate a wide range of skills, and show how the package supports the development of technical competence, precision and independence through structured practical activities and demonstration videos.
The taster workshop will also take you through the complete Vegan High Skills package, allowing you to see exactly what's included and how the resources can support teaching across the course.

โCannot recommend this course enough!!!! Even after teaching for 15 years and being vegan for 3 I learnt so much!โ
โThe Vegan course is superb, so detailed and regardless of starting point is accessible to everyone. It's another quality resource produced by The Food Teachers Centre and is certainly something I'll be using with both our vegan students and indeed meat-eating students. Worth every penny.โ
This is live on-line, you will need access to a good internet connection from a laptop (the platform is less accessible for the the activities we are doing on mobile devices).
We recommend a Tech Check ahead of the course here https://smart.newrow.com/kme-test
Google Chrome is recommended, check your school firewall settings, and use headphones/earbuds for best sound quality.
Vegan High Level Skills training has been brought to you with the support of the Nutritional Wellbeing Foundation. The Nutritional Wellbeing Foundation (NWF) is an independent UK grantmaker dedicated to improving public health through better nutrition.

We don't take purchase orders or invoices for our courses as they are usually very small amounts. The money that we save on using automated systems is passed onto our teachers to provide very high quality, low cost courses. Booking in this way also gives you instant access.
For small amounts - a teacher could pay by card and then reclaim form the school petty cash or expenses.
For group bookings -we can make exceptions where a Trust is buying a large number of courses and have a purchase order agreement - there is sometimes a processing charge for this. If you would like to discuss it, contact us hereย https://food-teachers-centre.cademy.io/enquiry?type=message. Access to courses is granted once it has been paid in full.
Can I pay by credit card? Yes, this is easy.
PayPal is our 'payment processor' for credit card and debit card payments, so you do not need to pay by your PayPal account.

SELECT Pay Pal and then the card option will appear.
Once I have purchased my course how do I log in?
When you purchase training, you are asked to give your direct email and contact details. This email is used to log you in. TYPE IT CAREFULLY. ย
